So my Touch Pro 2 runs really slow a lot of the times. It gets extremely annoying. I have deleted most apps and things that take up memory on the phone. It is still slow.

By slow I mean, for example, if I get a text message I press reply. The reply takes a long time to load to the screen where I can type. As a result, I tap another thing on accident and it loads somewhere else. Sometimes whatever command I type just remains unresponsive for a while. This is very stressful. I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem? Any solutions? Thanks for any input in advanced.

Mine is quite snappy. If running programs are not the culprit, the dreaded hard reset (back to factory settings) usually takes care of that. If nothing works, see if your provider can't exchange it for you.

Before you do a Hard Reset, have you tried a Soft Reset (hold power button for 3-5 seconds, then power back on after it shuts down)?

Have you used CleanRAM?  It's a great app that cleans your memory of unused processes, freeing up memory.  i use it constantly.  It's def worth a look if you use many apps throughout the day.

I am getting the same problem.

My phone is new out of the box three days ago. I have added no apps.

OS is 5.2.21887 (21887.5.0.86)

ROM is 2.07.401.1 (80303) WWE

ROM date is 02/04/10

When I turn the phone on, it runs sweetly and everything is a fast as I could like it. However, after a while, it just slows down. Often this is after making/receiving a call or text.

When this happens, it can take ten or fifteen seconds for a text message to open or to change from one tab to another or sometimes more.

Also, whan the phone is in this mood, it will often not change from portrait to landscape when it should.

I am on the UK O2 network, and I live in a poor reception area, so the phone is going from signal to no signal frequently and spends long periods with  no signal at all. I have no WiFi.

Can anyone please explain why the phone might do this and what I should do about it? (Layman's terms please?)

I am starting a separate message about this, but my phone also does not thave the "Quick Menu" button (top right) which is mentioned in the manual.

Thanking you for your assistance.

Anonybrit

PS: I have tried searching on these terms...

Try putting the task manager on the front page so you can close all programs when you're done usin them.

thanks for the replies everyone. I refuse to do a hard reset because I dont want to lose everything =\. I have tried a soft reset and the phone becomes a little faster. Nevertheless, I still get the same problem with unresponsive commands. Sometimes I will press a button and it will not load for a good 3 minutes or just totally freeze and recovers like 5 minutes later.

I download the ClearRam thing but I'm not sure it has any affect on the phone.
The only app i run is Palringo.
Looks like the phone needs a reboot every 2 days or so

If you are afraid of loosing everything, download MS MyPhone. Free to download. you van backup your phone to your computer. Then you can hard reset.

There is an OC thread here fpr anyone who wants to give it a try.

NetRipper hasn't dished out the final product yet, but I have been using version 2 in conjunction with the OC_Auto2 script and have been running flawlessly at 748MHz for a week!
(Overclocking may lead to broken device and is not recommended by the manufacturer.  Do at your own risk)

After setting script to 748 for startup and boost, ny TP2 is like a completely new device!

as my experience, facing this problem when lots of program running on background, to overcome this i count on CleanRAM and built in task manager, always check and kill unnecessary application.

Rest, i just maintain my PPC looks lite, i configure unneeded settings that could made it slow (ex: keypad phone sound, tabs on HTC Sense and lot more if You exploring deeply), i install only essential apps or games, doing temporary file deleting with ClearTemp and soft reset minimum once a day to refresh my RAM.

Just a share, be wise with it...
